One hell of a Saturday night.
Gulf Shores is boring, to say the least. Usually I sit at home on my laptop, bitching about this town's lack of excitement. Even so, I ventured out on Saturday night, and when I say I had a good time, I mean, a fucking good time.
First let me go over one thing.

I have fallen deeply for these cans of beer. Never drank them until this weekend (I know right? How?!), but oh em gee, PBR is now my beer of choice.
Back to the recap of Saturday night. I got off work early and was planning on doing nothing as usual. Then Caitlin Fountain, long time best friend and co-conspirator in mischief, sends me a text, asking me to please come to Bailey Calloway's 21st birthday bash. I was all like "Heck yeah!" about it, and after spending two hours getting ready (because my Mother hides articles of my clothing and then forgets where she put them), headed over to the partay. I have to say, their house (Bailey's and his family) is amazing! It's like a museum for hippies, two streets over from the beach. There was a DJ there, playing some pretty awesome music, tons of people, and tons of beer (and yes, PBRs!). Also, a shitload of amazing food, and I was sad that I had already eaten before the partay. Caitlin and I ran around talking to everyone, taking pictures, dancing (horribly), and just having a good time. Natasha was there too, and she's one of my favorites, when it comes to friends, so that was like the icing on the cake. I saw tons of people I haven't seen in years, it was sort of like a reunion.
Once the partay died down, Natasha and I headed to her apartment (so she could change) and then to The Coffee Merchant. There were lots of awesome people there, and we had some interesting discussions with the locals (none of which were too rednecky thankfully). Natasha and I also baffled them with our rubix cube skills. Travis met us there too! He drove from Fairhope (I hate that drive) so that made everything even better! Eventually the Coffee Merchant closed so we had to leave, we hung out at Natasha's for a while, then went home to sleep.
It was great, I feel like I've restored my social life a bit. Thanks to Caitlin for texting me and inviting me!
I do have to say though, that once again I remembered why I do NOT drink liquor. Matt made some drinks that contained maybe three different kinds? It totally sent me over the "you're coherent, now you're not so coherent" line. Beer, beer, beer, no liquor!
I hope everyone else had a fantastic weekend as well.

Tattoos and turtle's who rape things.
Over the last couple of days, I have worked, done nothing, played with my dog, done nothing, hung out with some friends at the beach, more nothing, and yeah you get the picture.
Today I went to Royal Street Tattoo in downtown Mobile (off Royal St, how easy is that?!), and courtesy of tattoo artist CW underwent the third sit of my sleeve we've been working on all year pretty much. It's totally my fault it's not done yet, I suck at saving money. Anyways, over the summer I was tattoo pain free. I totally fucking forgot how much it hurts. Like, god damn, it really hurts. Worth it of course, in my opinion, but... Seriously. My collarbone and shoulder blade hate me right now. Anyways, it looks fantastic as always, color was added for the first time, and I am so excited to see it "coming to life" right on my arm. Pictures will come eventually (and by eventually I mean you'll forget, then I'll be all "Surprise look!" and you'll get excited all over again).
If you are in the Pensacola, Mobile, Baldwin County, area or remotely close, GO TO THEIR SHOP. If you are broke and want something small, apprentice AJ is doing FREE palm sized tattoos, so hit it up!
Now, onto something I've been spamming everywhere (Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, wow I'm a social networking whore). Something I yet again discovered thanks to 2birds1blog.
Yeah, it's as awesome as you expected.

Tourists. I mean seriously?

This post at 2birds1blog made me decide to finally write that post about tourism I've been wanting to write all summer. WARNING: This post contains some heavy language as I tend to get pretty riled up about tourism.
Tourists can be good. They bring money to an area (especially mine, Gulf Shores, AL), they are interesting to watch sometimes, etc. Usually though, I just want to grab them and shake them uncontrollably while yelling "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING?!".
Let's examine some things shall we?
1) Driving.
They suck at it. I mean they suck fucking donkey balls at it. They drive twenty miles under the speed limit, they never use any signals, they ride your ass, or block you in the left lane. They look at you all horribly offended and what not when you pass them, or have your music turned up even a wee bit, or do anything that doesn't fit their pearly little image of their perfect vacation. Hey, you, with the fanny pack, I'm not on fucking vacation, I'm late for work, where I'll actually end up serving your kind, so can you please just meander over to the right lane (where you can literally go as slow as you want because in the common sense world that is what it's for!) and get the fuck out of my way. Mostly it's just tourists that don't follow the left is for cruising, right is for passing rule but sometimes LOCALS do it too and I hate them even more. When locals drive like jackasses it's just a downright betrayal. Unfortunately I live in Alabama where one is more likely to know how to drive a tractor then a car (JK Alabama, I have to poke fun at you sometimes though), but tourists still always outrank locals when it comes to shitty driving. They are just completely oblivious to the person behind them pumping their fists up and down, screaming, and swerving in anger (psh, yeah that's me!). They are instead moseying along in their minivan, looking at the 1,000th palm tree they've seen, getting excited over fucking sand, while not realizing they're going 20 mph in a 45. On a one lane road. Blocking traffic. Blocking traffic for miles. And miles. Forever. Hey, guess what? You wanna sight see? Fucking walk! Also, our ambulances, firetrucks, and police personnel are not toys. They're real. People have emergencies and die here too (I know, crazy!), so please move the fuck over. It marvels me how many of you just sit there like a retarded duck. One last thing, turning lanes, use them. Those arrows in the middle pointing to either direction, those are instructions. It's not just a big fucking blank spot to look at, it has a purpose. Purpose, people, PURPOSE.
2) Children.
Do you even know what your child is doing right now? Eating dog poop! Yeah, fucking look at them! I don't know why, but it seems that when people are on vacation they forget everything they've ever learned when it comes to social interaction, and this includes their kids. My friend Gaynelle recently told me a story about how this one kid in the restaurant she works at was literally shoving about fifty packets of sugar into his mouth, becoming more hyperactive by the second, and making a holy mess. When the parents were finally politely asked if they were seeing this, their response was, "Oh! Well we're on vacation so you know, yeah, whatever." and *shrug*. Um, what? Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean your kid all of a sudden became immune to sugar, the sugar is magically invisible and doesn't have to be cleaned up, and we're all deaf and can't hear your subsequently balls to the wall hyper spawn screaming at the top of his/her lungs. Some other points, when it's dark outside, and your kids run out into the middle of the road in traffic, and you do nothing to correct this because you're drunk (yeah, very drunk, all the time, because you're on fucking vacation), doesn't mean we're not going to kill your kids accidentally. You know why? Vacation doesn't magically give people crazy tiger night vision and super reflexes. What if we're drunk? Huh? Ever think of that? We freaking live here, on the beach, I mean, we should be drunk 24/7 right (since you certainly are)? Remember this next time.
3) You look and act like an idiot.
Seriously. Do you wear that at home? No? I didn't think so, so why in the hell would you wear it here?! I know a great thing about vacation is the fact that you can do anything stupid and no one knows you, but have some fucking dignity. Also, seriously? Do you act that way at home? You really block the aisle in the grocery store with your five shopping carts arguing with your co-vacationer about what you have and don't have at the condo, eventually just forcing me to be rude and grunt in a mean fashion while pushing your shit out of the way. I mean, seriously. *Sigh*
I can't write anymore because if I do, I'm liable to go buy a gun and blow my head off just thinking about it. If you're a tourist and you don't do any of this, well then kudos to you!
Although, I know you will continue to plague me in DC, where the meaning of "Walk left, stand right", will hold no meaning to you, no matter how many times locals push you out of the way.
God damn you ignorant tourist creature from hell. God damn you.

Oh, weather please stay this way!
Guess what? I'm still in southern Alabama, on the beach, and it WASN'T 95F-115F today! It was like 83F, and now it's around 70F, and it feels absolutely wonderful. I have been driving with my windows down all day singing my heart out to whatever my Zune has decided to play for me (thanks whoever came up with the shuffle feature), and I've been as happy as a clam. I'm almost scared for tomorrow to come, in fear that the heat will return, like the asshole it is. I love when the cool air returns after the summer when you get that feeling of being able to breathe and smell everything again. The sad thing is that on days like this my memory takes me north, because southern Alabama does not have near enough days like this. All I see in my mind is driving north on the interstate watching the trees get taller. Well a little taller, or maybe my mind is just making them seem taller to fit my more grand image. I don't know, I'm just ready to move.
Something I didn't mention the other day, and I wish I had been able to snap a photo but that's impossible while driving alone on a highway going 65 mph. It was a car with writing on the window, but instead of saying "Beach or BUST!" or "Just Married!", it said, "DONUTS! Oh nom nom nom nom nom!". Seeing that literally made my year.
Another thing that made me laugh recently, was this post at In Town. Just read it.
I don't have much else to say, and I must sleep. It's almost 230a and I have to be up early to get my car to the mechanic (damn computer sensors!).
Albeit, before I go...
Make sure you watch through the end. ;]

Welcome to the college life.
Well not really, technically not until next fall, but I'm starting on education related activities now anyways. Long story short, I went through some things during my teenage hood that caused me to drop out of high school in the 9th grade and work full time. I have been working, constantly, since I can remember, and have now been able to slow down and get back on my educational track. I start GED classes this month, then will begin teaching myself advanced math (college preparation), with the help of my Mom's math addicted girlfriend.
I start college next fall, as stated already, and I am so excited I can barely stand the wait. I will be attending NOVA (Northern Virginia Community College) for two years and then transferring to GMU (George Mason University) for another two years, meaning I will end college at the age of 24, which is perfect even though I'm supposed to be class of '12, but hey at least I'm going to college.

NOVA- Annandale Campus, sits on 78 acres, pretty huge for a community college I think. My two years here will be spent working on an A.S. in Science. The only downside to this school, is the fact that I will have to drive from the district to Annandale everyday, and while it's not too terribly far, it's still driving in the DC area, which I despise, even for one mile. If anyone can tell me if any of the shuttles or buses run between the closest metro stop and the NOVA campus, I would love you forever! Though I could just ask them later on, haha.

GMU- Fairfax Campus, this is the one I'm really excited about. GMU was my second choice in universities and after realizing how incredibly difficult it is to get accepted into Georgetown (not to mention their Jesuit/Catholic identity), I went with GMU. Turns out NOVA (my CC of choice) and GMU specifically work together to seamlessly transfer students every year! How perfect! I will be going to GMU to get my B.A. in Biology. There is a metro stop servicing this campus too, and that is always a plus in my eyes.
Myself, my Mom, and her girlfriend all plan to move back to DC in the next two months or so. Not only because we are all suffocating in Alabama, but also because the sooner I establish myself up there the less time spent paying out of state tuition (you have to live in VA or DC for 12 months before you can get in state tuition rates and yes, DC counts as in state thanks to a grant that pays off most of the out of state tuition). I don't know how long I plan on living with them, it depends on how much time I'm going to end up spending at school. I already know the debt from both colleges is going to rack up pretty much immediately. Hello financial aid! I really don't want to live with them (I rather enjoy living on my own, seeing as how I'm an adult and all), but if I have to, to get through college, then I'm going to. Let's hope the next four or five years doesn't kill me.
Time for some funnies!

It's hilarious to watch the older people in the family attempt a go on the Dreamcast. Mainly because they completely spaz out with the controller. Look at the picture, see how they "turn" the controllers, trying so hard to defeat each other? Just wait until I get a video, you will laugh your ass off.

That wonderful funny is from Comixed. I strongly recommend you visit it!
My life other than the above has been pretty insignificant. It will probably stay that way until I move. Anyways, I'm off to watch a cartoon, so I can act like a child.

In a hurry again, but...
This kid is serious about some Michael Jackson.
That's all I have for today.
Well and this.
Seeing a cat and a dolphin together in real life has now made my list of things to do before I die.

A serious post on atheism and theism.
.jpg)
I love writing funny (well I try), but sometimes I have to write serious.
I had to pick my little cousin up from a church tonight and that is what prompted this. Daily, I think about this stuff, but after talking to him tonight about the belief or non belief in a god, I decided to write about it.
I will start by saying that if you are easily offended and are not mature enough to read this without hating me and being mean, leave now. This is not meant to intentionally disrespect religion, it's just my thoughts on the subject, and some things about atheism I'd like people to know. I implore you to read and think carefully on this before shunning it away. Open up your eyes, just a little.
Now, as many of you already know, I'm an atheist, and also sort of an anti-theist. I wouldn't be an anti-theist if not for the people who practice theism. See I do not care one bit what one does in their own home or church, but when religion is brought into government, public schools, or war, I, and others, must fight back to protect freedom and secularism. People generalize that atheists and non believers are a minority and we are, but we are here, just like anyone else. In Europe, around 45% of the population does not believe in a god and in Japan about 65%. The percentage in the US is lower, around 16%, but is also growing. We are not evil heathens, set out to destroy the world, we are decent, moral, kind, smart people, just like you. Yes there are some bad eggs, but not near as many as seen on the religious side, like the people who hold up signs during soldier funeral processions saying "Thank God for I.E.D.s". Many religious folk will say they are not true representations of Christianity, but regardless they are still considered part of the religious sect. So I introduce my argument as to why I believe religion is completely unnecessary and actually detrimental to this country. I invite anyone to debate this, but in a mature fashion, please. I will respect you, so please respect me, and understand this is meant as an educational discussion, NOT A BATTLE. We are fighting for the same country remember?
First, think of all the bad that has come from religion. Almost every single war. Mass slaughter and massacre of people of lesser religions. Fighting between citizens of the same country. 9/11 (for those of you who do not believe the conspiracy theory). Child's lives have been ruined by men who were trusted alone with them, for no other reason than they were "men of God". Heart wrenching, disgusting, violent acts that are unimaginable to the everyday US citizen, such as cutting the labia and clitoris off of pre-teen girls with a sharp rock, with no pain killer whatsoever. Suicide, martyrs, murder, so much death, in the name of so many different gods. The Christian god by the way, is no exception, whatsoever. Keep in mind that the people who knocked over the towers in this country worship "Yahweh", the god of the Islamic, Jewish, and Christian religions.
Now think of the good religion has done. They have provided homes to countless people, food, water, comfort. Religion has been able to raise money for so many different organizations it would be impossible to name them all. Religion provides an easy bond within the community. The thing is, these are all things that can be and are easily done, without religion.
Allow me to explain. Take myself for example. I believe in being good to others, not because I think it's what a certain deity wants me to do, or because I believe it will get me into heaven, but I believe in being good to others, because it is simply the right thing to do. I do not expect the same treatment in return, there are a lot of horrible people in the world, but I will still be good. I believe in raising money for good causes, and whether or not a religious organization backs it or not means nothing. Anyone can raise money, it is not religious people who have the inclination to be good (we've seen so many bad examples), it's good people who are good. They are good with or without religion. I know many wonderful kind religious people (Caitlin, Wesley, and Dana Fountain are three shining examples), but I know that they would be good people without religion as well. I know some religious people who are assholes, but I know that if they were atheists they would still be assholes. Morals do not come from whatever religion you are or aren't, they come from your environment, family, friends, and your own brain (some people are psychotic and always will be). So the argument that we need religion for morals is obviously wrong. I have morals and no religion, as do many other atheists I know.
Now, there is another reason for religion. Comfort. Religion comforts the person riding out a storm, the person going through hard times, the person with no one else to comfort them, religion is always there. That is one of the main things religion has under it's belt. It's faith. You can buy a cell phone, and get stranded on a road and call for assistance, but the cell phone could go dead. With religion, at that point you still have options, such as prayer. The idea of prayer for me is easy to understand. When someone prays for something and it happens they believe they've been answered but when it doesn't happen they believe there is a reason for it. They believe whatever they need to believe. In reality, prayer does not mean anything to anyone but the person who is praying. I live in an area that gets hit with hurricanes frequently, so I often hear people saying their prayers were answered, or if it hits, we're getting punished. Your god does not control that storm; the wind currents, the ocean, temperature, heat waves, cold fronts, and humidity (among other things) control that storm, and the meteorologist can explain all of it to you. No god, just nature. People even pray that a storm won't hit when it's not even close to us and when it doesn't hit (as predicted), they say their god did that. No. We knew it wasn't going to hit, the whole time, because of science.
Anyways, I'm getting off point. People find comfort from religion. Non religious people find comfort in themselves, in their family, in their friends. We don't need a friend in the sky. We have everything we need here on this beautiful green earth. We appreciate life, and the random chance that we were born into existence, and we do not worry ourselves with afterlives, but with what is now. We know love, and we know why we love, and we love it, with no help from any god. We know why we do things, thanks to science, and we understand it, and what we don't understand we continue to learn about. So see, if you embrace the now, and the science, and everything else you are lucky enough to comprehend, you will see no need for religion. You will see the beauty I see, that need's no faith, because it is right there in front of me and 100% true.
Religion breeds fear. There is no reason, for example, to ban gay marriage, other than fear. Silly fear, I might add. I was raised by gay people and am straight as a board, like to think of myself as intelligent, and very loved. Gay people are not evil, they are just different than you, and as a fellow human being you need to embrace culture and diversity. It infuriates me what the religious have done to gay people. Their lives are being ruined and all they want to do is have the equal right to love someone else. I do not know why any moral kind person wants to deny them that.
This is why I and others fight. Too many bad things have happened thanks to religion. Science and medical advancements that could save countless lives have been hindered by religion. At this point in age we obviously do not need religion for moral control, or comfort. All religion serves as now as a tool. A tool to take away the rights of others. This country was founded on secularism, and the religious do not want that. They want complete control. What of the people who are non-believers? It's not fair for us to have to adhere to your laws. What if we made a law telling you, you could not get married in any religious way? Wouldn't you be absolutely outraged?
Well we're not doing that. We don't even want this fight really, we just want you to leave well alone. Practice what you want in your home, in your church, but do not take away our right to not practice anything. I wouldn't even be writing this argument if the religious has not brought it upon themselves.
Once again, I encourage all responses. Sorry if I offended any of you, but hey, you offend me sometimes too, and that's okay. ;D

I am reverting to my childhood.
Guess what I officially own now?

Guess what's in the mail on the way to my house right now?

Now my social life officially goes out the window! I'm so excited, you have no idea.
Movie review time!

The Goods:
I will inevitably like anything from the people who did Talladega Nights and Step Brothers. While this movie in particular was completely non-realistic (like the other two), it was still pretty funny. I like funny movies, but especially funny movies that make me laugh out loud. This one did that a couple of times. Not as funny as say The Hangover, but still pretty decent.
I give it three out of five.
In addition to all of that stuff, today I DID NOT GO TO WORK. Yes, an off day. I was going to go in for the next sit of my sleeve but that did not happen. I ate Zakby's chicken fingers, delicious as always.
I donated blood for the first time today.
The worst part for me by far was the damn finger prick. I can sit and get my whole arm tattoed no problem, but something about that little needle pricking the tip of my finger brings out the scared five year old in me. The big needle they stuck in my vein wasn't nearly as bad. I didn't get too dizzy either. Jessica on the other hand could not drive, haha. My blood type is O, but whether it's O+, or O-, remains to be seen, and I should know by mail at some point. I feel like a good citizen now. :D
Nothing else to say, just hanging out in Daphne.
Peace!

Peace!

Our top news stories.
The other day I was on the CNN homepage and just happened to notice the "most popular" news stories.

Well gee, aren't we just a happy country! The last one really drives the point across.
Today easily outdid yesterday when it comes to lack of excitement. I ate another freaking Lava Crunch Cake (Fuck you Domino's), and I am about to cook myself a delicious steak.
Adios!

Well hello there, hurricane season.
Thought you were giving up on us this year. Hah! How silly of us to even consider that. For those of you who don't know where Gulf Shores, AL is, it's pretty much a barrier island off the coast of Alabama. Still don't understand? No worries, I've got you covered.

The red dot-blob in the middle is my house. Sort of.

Joy.
Seriously though, I do actually like these storms. Don't take it the wrong way, I agree Ivan and Katrina were absolutely horrible, among many others, and I hate seeing people's homes and lives ruined by storms like that, but some of you who live here on the coast have to admit feeling a little sad when the projected path moves away from where you live. For the smaller storms. Maybe it's just me, but I will admit it.
My name is Caitlin, and I'm a hurricane addict.
Like I've said before something about storms amazes me. Chaos in nature is beauty in itself in my eyes. Driving through the subsequently flooded roads in my tiny ass car is not beautiful whatsoever though.
On another note (completely), I saw a car hit someone riding a bike yesterday. The biker was fine, well very fucking mad, but fine. Since no one got hurt I can confess to laughing at the situation. I'm still not sure who was in the wrong though. It's a tough one.
Other then working and sleeping (and consuming a mass amount of sushi and chocolate pudding), I've done nothing with my life over the weekend. Hooray! Off to go do more nothing.

Google has superior mapping skills.
"Today, I was using google earth, and typed in "Your mom's house." It went to an actual location and said "She makes wonderful muffins." Touche, Google Earth. MLIA"

I love it when funny things are 100% true.

He almost hit the freaking turkey!
Well, actually, I'm not sure it was a turkey. It looked like one, sort of, but had this strange exotic shape to it. I'm assuming definitely domestic, maybe like some sort of prize turkey, or something crazy like that.
Anyways, allow me to further elaborate. This morning on my way back home from my all night adventure on the Eastern Shore, I spot this car in front of me, stopped. As soon as I get up behind him I notice the reason, this exotic-looking-dumb-turkey is strutting around in front of the car like a blind fool. The exotic-looking-dumb-turkey moves, the car continues on, then the exotic-looking-dumb-turkey struts back into my lane, so I have to stop too. Finally the exotic-looking-dumb-turkey continues on, to the other side of the road***, and I begin to speed up. Then I see this red truck come around the curve facing me, making a beeline for the exotic-looking-dumb-turkey. The speed limit on this area of the road is 25 mph, so it's not very hard to slow down. This ASSHOLE however, just continues to barrel toward the exotic-looking-dumb-turkey! I guess the exotic-looking-dumb-turkey possibly felt the wind from the truck at the last second and moved out of the way, missing murder by an inch. The truck-asshole never slowed down. I wanted to chase him and scream at him, even though, in general, I don't give two shits about domestic birds. It was an infuriating start to my morning.
On a completely different note, oh how I enjoy Mikato's Japanese Steakhouse. Not just because of their wonderful sushi, but the restaurant only plays dance/techno music, is decorated in a very contemporary modern fashion, and has no windows allowing you to see outside. One can easily pretend they are not in Alabama, and this is probably the main appeal to me.
Please get me out of this state.
Today was boring by the way, so you really don't need a description.

*** Why did the exotic-looking-dumb-turkey cross the road? Whoever comes up with the most humorous answer gets an E-Cookie from me! (No one will do this, I'm sure)

Movie review time!
Not that I am important enough for anyone to care what I think about movies, but whatever, I want to so here goes.

Julie & Julia:
Loved it. Then again, I also read the book (which is infinitely hilarious, if I do say so myself). Not only was it a cute movie about two women who love to cook, it was also very funny, not too long, and I loved the personalities portrayed by the actors and actresses. I do recommend reading the book first though, because it is (of course) better than the movie. Julie Powell is a wonderful writer, and probably the funniest writer I've ever read by far. I strongly suggest you read everything that has to do with her.
All in all, I give this movie four out of five. :D

District 9:
Turned out to be different then I thought it was. Without giving too much away, I will say that the stories were more personal than I expected. What I expected was a full out battle between the aliens and the humans, and that didn't happen really at all. The storyline was good, and mostly original, the graphics were good. I enjoyed the movie. I couldn't really see myself watching it again though.
I give it three out of five.
Please keep in mind, by the way, that I am usually very, very, easily satisfied with movies. I just tend to dislike super popular ones sometimes. Not most of the time though.
Other than seeing those two movies today I...
Slept, a lot.
Ate, a lot (too much).
Got to see Jessica (never do I see her enough).
Hung out with Travis.
Beat him at Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe TWICE (two times, I tell you!). Scorpion is my player of choice from now on.
Bought 18 Fuze drinks. :] At once.
Downloaded almost everything ever recorded by Mindless Self Indulgence.
Discovered that Army of Two is a horrible video game, and never should have been programmed into existence.
Spent way too much money.
Failed to sleep, which is why I'm blogging now, on the following day, at 630am.
Still have to drive for an hour, so I can sleep.
Work comes too soon.
I should really get going on that sleep thing I guess.

Hermit crabs.
This is going to have to be real quick sooo...
Worked all day again.
Had to drive through some serious storms again.
Didn't make as much money as I'd have liked again.
Did nothing else, again.
Funny story of the day:
Delivered to a family. While doing the whole food/money swap thing, this little kid ran up to the door and yelled at me, saying "I GOT TWO HERMIT CRABS, BUT THEY'RE SLEEPING NOW!" I couldn't help thinking to myself yeah kid, those crabs are dead. The parents quickly shooed him away and look sort of embarrassed so maybe I'm right?
Also, I'm sick of southern hospitality. I do not want to know about everything you did today, old grocery cashier, I just want to buy my shit (quickly), and leave. It's sad, but I MISS rude people.
More tomorrow, maybe.

I mastered the art of the multitask!
Not only was I driving with my knee, while talking, I WAS ALSO PLAYING GALAGA ON MY PHONE, WITH BOTH HANDS. Yes, be proud. I even SWITCHED LANES. Mwuahhahahahaah. Some of you are probably thinking I should not be on the road now, but today was also the day I found out that my monthly car insurance payment went down by $30! You know what that means? It means I'm safe, which means that obviously I am so incredibly multifaceted that I can afford to play Galaga while driving everyday of my life.
Just kidding, I will not even attempt that shit in DC, so only you Alabamians should be afraid. :]
Let's see, today...
Corporate was supposed to show up at work to terrorize us, but alas, they never came. This always happens, and I'm starting to think it is merely a trick, in order to get us to do more even more work.
Almost made it to the last showing of Julie & Julia, but work made me just 10 minutes too late, and since I absolutely will not risk missing any of that movie, it will have to wait for later in the week.
This evening I have developed an unexplainable pain under my rib cage, and it is tormenting. I want to stretchhhhhhhh to make it go away, but it would probably look funny trying to type on my laptop with my entire side arched with my head cocked to one side and my arm reaching toward the sky. I guess I will have to suffer.
I really am leaning toward that spontaneous weekend trip up to DC. It's been almost four months since I've left Alabama (if you don't count Atlanta, and I don't, since that place offers nothing except an endless amount of people who want things), and I am getting quite antsy.
I have to upload over 500 pictures and videos, and rip all of my CD's to my (new-ish) laptop tonight. Hooray for no sleep once again!
Better get started!

Lava Cakes
Got to sleep in today, that was nice.
Arrived at work to find the person I hate the most managing for the early afternoon. Cleaned up after him and cursed the whole time.
Made jokes about said person with the rest of the staff when the new manager came in for the rest of the evening.
Had an employee show up drunk to pick up free food that he "promised" to pay for later.
Enjoyed an intense debate with my manager about the existence of ghosts (which I do not believe in).
Then had a sort of sad discussion about why atheists are so distrusted in America.
Ate two lava cakes. I'm going to get fat from those. They are like tiny brownies, with melted chocolate fudge inside. They are ridiculous.
Delivered to a condo and watched fifteen people grilling outside. They had kabobs, steak, hotdogs, hamburgers, and all kinds of delicious smelling foods. I stared, pizza in hand, with envy.
Almost ran over about 25 tourists. A daily occurrence.
Listened to our Brazilian employee talk about people who live in the northeast. According to him they talk much clearer then southerners do, and he says he learns more vocabulary from them (Well, duh). He told me I sounded like them and asked how long I've lived down here. Good to know I don't yet sound like a complete jackass.
Shuffle on my Zune today included Incubus, Daft Punk, Despised Icon, The Crystal Method, Tom Petty, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, No Doubt, The Lonely Island, Saves The Day, Death Cab For Cutie, and Linkin Park, just to name a few.
Was let off work early, because business is finally slowing down. Only made $25 tonight, and that is NOT good.
Getting sick of staying at my Aunt's house, I'd like to go home. Separation anxiety from my dog and cat is starting to set in.
Trying to tether my Android phone to my laptop for mobile internet, but it is taking 765,934 years.
Can't wait to fall asleep to Adult Swim.

Just Real Quick.
Why whenever you call WalMart and get someone in electronics, THEY ALWAYS HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR!!!!
I just called both locations in our area and both of these idiots could not simply tell me if they had a USB cable for a Zune. They could not understand the idea that a cable for an iPod or an MP3 player is not the same as a Zune cable. WalMart needs to do something about their employees, seriously, it's not just electronics, it's every department. NO ONE EVER KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING!
Sorry for that rant, good night.

I'm Tired.
So this will be quick.
Over the weekend:
Hung out with Parker, Travis, Brandon, and Shawn (not Porkchop, he was with Jessica in either Iowa or Missouri).
Played Monopoly with them and beat all of their asses.
Worked everyday of course.
Spent a lot of time updating multiple social networking site profiles, became addicted to Facebook, and signed up on Twitter (shoot me now). Starting to tire of Myspace, completely.
Downloaded the Zune software onto my new laptop and discovered they are coming out with a new Zune called the "Zune HD" soon. It looks badass and I'm definitely buying it.
I hate Apple.
Considering taking a weekend trip up to DC with my Mom sometime this month, but surprising her with it.
Honked at various idiot tourist drivers.
Observed a true "rain cloud" as in I could see where the downpour began and where it stopped. I drove through it and it wasn't even the size of one block.
Discovered that Erin McCarley has great music.
Decided to never drink soda again (so far so good).
Asked everyone at work what they thought my ethnicity was, got mixed results including: 2; Asian 1; Latino 4; Indian 2; European 1; Polish! 1; Irish 1; Mutt That's all I can remember.
Remembered how fun it is to talk to Travis Abshear for hours on AIM.
Has decided that writing blogs in this way is a lot easier and will probably do this more often.
Wants sleep.

Storms are cool.
Seriously, they really are.
Today I went to work at 11am, and by about 2pm it started looking gloomy. Although to me, dark storm clouds don't look gloomy, they look chaotic, and that's fun. To me. The first storm cloud passed without doing much of anything. Just made it dark and breezy. Then the big one started rolling in.
It always amazes me how much one weather system can dramatically change something. Almost instantaneously it became super dark, the wind picked up so much it was knocking my Domino's hat off and slamming my car door shut, and then the rain just started pouring and the roads flooded immediately (due to the already saturated ground, since we get these storms everyday). Fifteen minutes prior to this it had been calm and sunny. It may not be so magnificent to some people, but I love the shit out of storms. I wish I'd had a decent camera during all of this, because the cloud formations were great. They're like their own little art force. Unfortunately I only had my cell phone and you can't see shit on the pictures.
Anyways, got off work around 9pm, took Cece and Brandon home, fucked around (meaning drove around and wasted gas), and ended up here at my aunt's house, where I will probably reside for the night, due to the fact that I can steal the neighbor's wireless internet here, and at home there is none. Anywhere.
I planned on downloading all my music to my laptop tonight, but due to the fact that Walmart's an Apple product nazi institution, I could not locate a cable for my Zune to connect it to my laptop. I fucking hate Apple.
PC FO LIFE!
Haha.

After 2 Years..
I finally own a computer again!
To be more specific, today I went out and bought myself an Acer Aspire Timeline laptop. Actually, when I got off work at 2am, I went to WalMart and bought it on impulse, but that doesn't matter! It's awesome! I've needed a computer forever, so I really don't regret spending the money. Although, now I have to get it back. Quickly. Whoops.
Other updates:
Finally got to hang out with Kristen for the first time in ages. It was fun as hell. Hopefully we'll hang out on a regular basis now.
Missing Robby terribly. Don't even want to dwell on that sad subject.
I've decided I should have enough money to move to DC in November. So that is my plan as of now. A lot of people want me to wait until spring, but I'll figure it out then.
I've been working my ass off lately, as most of you know. I've only really seen Gaynelle, Kristen, Devin, Mat, Morgan, and Cameron. That's a pretty small friend base for me. Kris surprised me yesterday at work though, that was nice.
I miss Jessica, Dustin, Mikee, and some others a lot though.
Jessica turned 20 two days ago (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!), and right now she and Shawn are in Minnesota/ Iowa. I want to go on a roadtrip.
Enough updates, I mean what else do I have to tell you anyways?
Funny story.
I shall change names to protect people's images, but I work with some dumb people. Tonight for example, one of them, we'll call him Harold, took a delivery to 24th street and got lost because he couldn't find it. Let me explain, there is only ONE 24th street in Gulf Shores, and any delivery driver worth anything, knows where it is. Needless to say, something that should have taken 15 minutes took 40. When he got back he tried explaining it to me, and after a long droning pointless conversation with him, he walked away. One minute later my manager comes up to me and says, "Don't engage him in conversation please, he'll never stop talking." This caused me to burst out laughing, because that is so horribly true. Cece, who may be reading this, will know immediately who Harold is, and completely understand. This is a guy who smells bad, walks super slow, takes three times the normal time to complete any task, and is just... Dumb. He spells lobby, loby. Yacht, yought. Phoenix, phenixx. Watching him interact with anyone is like watching a different species.
That was a random paragraph of pointless chatter, but whatever, I'm in a good mood, because I'm typing on an actual keyboard that belongs to me, instead of a smartphone keyboard! So, I'll do what I want. :]
Alright, peace.
