My life finally got cool.

That's why I haven't been here much. I know, excuses, excuses. I'm pretty sure I lost my pretty much non-existent readership I had anyways from not posting for so long so I don't think it matters. Anyways, updates, yes?

- Why is it still fucking hot? Where is my fall weather? Hurry the fuck up.
- Chocolate stout is not as good as I expected and this makes me sad.
- I'm learning Spanish and I am proud of that fact.
- Friends are coming up from Alabama, maybe they will decide DC is the place to be. Then life would be even cooler!
- My boyfriend makes me food all the time and then gets slightly offended when I don't try it immediately, and I constantly run out of beer. These are my problems you guys.
- High definition TVs ARE everything they're cracked up to be.
- I enjoy Chinatown so much more when intoxicated.

Alright, movie reviews? It's been a while!

The Social Network:
Otherwise known as the Facebook movie. I thought this would be an alright movie and I was completely wrong. It was an awesome movie. I know everyone's like "Blah, blah, blah, it defines our generation", but it DOES. How do I know this? Well, I updated Facebook while I was watching it. How's that for a definition. If I have children and they have grandchildren, and those grandchildren ask me what life was like when I was young, I will more than likely just have them watch this movie. The acting was pretty wonderful in my opinion (except Timberlake, I just don't care for him), and the cinematography was awesome. My favorite scene regarding that aspect was the rowboat race scene where it looks to me like they used a tilt-shift lens to film it. I don't know much about that stuff, but that is what it looked like and it was pretty beautiful. Another great thing, was that the movie was dramatic, and also seriously funny. I really enjoyed it, go see it now!

I give it five out of five.

It's Kind of a Funny Story:
I love Zach Galifianakis and he was probably the main reason I wanted to see this movie. It was decent, a cute story, a little sappy and a little too teenage drama filled for my liking. Also, since when is Vampire Weekend mentioned in movies? I swear hipsters are taking over our culture, completely. The main thing I liked about this movie was the artistic perspective dealing with the main characters drawings and how he thought of his art. It was different and pretty interesting.

I give it three out of five.

Adios you fine people, I'll talk to you next month probably. Or maybe not. I don't know. I plan on getting into some shenanigans this weekend, so I may have some good writing material then. Who knows.

Getting you up to speed, and looking at hot men.

So much has happened over the last couple of weeks I can't even begin to cover it all. I will give you an update in the form of a short, non-descriptive list though.

- My apartment is the mother fucking bomb.
- I'm no longer funemployed, and actually have a pretty legit job.
- My dog, cat, and most of my personal belongings are still waiting for me to come pick them up from the oily beaches of Alabama.
- Until I can do that I've been scoring cheap/free shit off Craigslist, which I have come to worship.
- I managed to get drunk in a public place with some agreeable people here in DC and then very nearly pissed myself waiting on the Metro on my way home, so take that how you will.
- Numerous friends are planning visits.
- Who knew the P St Whole Foods had a parking deck? I didn't, apparently I'm blind. This would have been helpful the first week I was here.
- I saw We Are Scientists, this should automatically make you envious of me.
- The fact that it was 67 degrees last night and 80 something back in Alabama makes me feel just a teensy bit superior.
- I went through a 24+ hour long power outage and spent most of that time riding my bike in Rock Creek Park, so as to come home sweaty and even more over heated. I make wonderful decisions you guys.
- I got around to watching Jesus Camp, and it legitimately instilled a sense of dread in me.
- I don't want to watch anymore sex scenes on movies or TV shows until my boyfriend is here and that's final. I feel like a starved Ethiopian child, but it has nothing to do with food.
- Parking tickets, wamp wamp wamp.
- Centipedes are terrifying.

So there you have it. Not really short, and a tad descriptive, so I'm sorry I lied.

Now that I have a home, stable job, and most importantly, a fast internet connection, I'm going to attempt to start writing more regularly on here. Key word, attempt. No promises. If anyone who read this blog in the past remembers particular things they liked to read about let me know. Although I foresee getting zero comments on this post, due to my steady absence lately.

Now, onto what obsessions with hot actors can lead to:

Inception:
This movie dealt with dreams, within dreams, within dreams. If that sentence doesn't fucking blow your mind, then the movie at least probably will. First, wonderful cast, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, and my former 500 Days of Summer crush. Second, interesting, unique storyline. Third, extremely fucking visually appealing. I'm not saying go see this movie on drugs, but I'm not not saying go see this movie on drugs.

I give it five out of five, easily.

The Kids Are All Right:
Ever since I first saw Mark Ruffalo in XX/XY way back in the day I have thought of him as one of the sexiest guys ever (in my opinion he rivals Johnny Depp, it's that serious). So if he stars in a movie, I will more than likely find a way to see it, as soon as humanly possible. This movie not only stars him, but is about two kids with lesbian parents who get in touch with their biological father (the sperm donor for the lezzies). Having lesbian parents myself, and not knowing my father, I can obviously relate to this, although don't think for a second Ruffalo still isn't the main reason I made my way to the theater to see it. Anyways, I really throughly enjoyed this movie, I thought the entire cast did a great job of acting, most notably Julianne Moore, it was extremely funny at times, and most importantly of all: MARK RUFFALO SEX SCENES.

Do you even have to ask? I give it five out of five.

I know, two five stars in a row. To be fair, the second one would have gotten five stars even if the acting had been deplorable solely for those sex scenes.

That's all for now. Before I go though, I just found this in the depths of my personal files on my laptop, and because I'm now extremely creeped out, I'd like to creep you out, so here you go:

You're welcome.

I has an apartment in DC. FINALLY!!!!!!11!!

After years (literally, YEARS) of planning on moving back up here to my hometown and escaping the hellhole that is (and will always be) Alabama, I am here, and I have an apartment. Finding one didn't take as long as I imagined. Not only did it not take long, somehow I ended up getting a badass basement apartment. Not a cramped, stuffy studio, which I expected. Somehow I got this:

That's just the living room. There's so much more! Yes, I know you're jealous. It's okay though, you shouldn't be, because while I do have an awesome pad, I'm still funemployed. Although it's more so terrifying than it is "fun". So while I've been running around DC trying to find a job (Read: Getting lost, over heated, and generally feeling worthless), I've been partaking in some other activities I'm going to tell you about now! Activities that all cost money. So I should probably stop. I should probably hole up in my new basement apartment with a shitload of Ramen noodles and never go do anything ever again. Well at least until I find a job. We'll see.

Anyways!!

Predators:
Eh. That's really my entire review of this movie. Just, eh. I was expecting to be pretty scared (watch the trailer) and I wasn't scared AT ALL. Never. It was just like watching a gory, more intelligent, involving version of a deer hunting trip. Nice visual effects, decent acting, Adrien Brody took his shirt off (a certain fellow immature friend of mine will appreciate that), and there is this one scene where one of the monsters rips out a guys spinal cord with the skull attached with his bare hands. That was pretty sweet. All in all though, I was just slightly disappointed.

I give it three out of five.

Sushi-Go-Round and Tapas:
Stopped in here for some food today while waiting for my movie to begin. Good service, good sushi, decently priced. I enjoyed watching the food roll past me on the conveyor belt. It's a neat little place, if you're down to try it, it's inside the Gallery Place building next to the Verizon Center in Chinatown. Take this recommendation with a grain of salt though. Saying I dislike any sushi is like saying I dislike sex. It just doesn't happen that often.

We Are Scientists:
I get to see them this Friday at Black Cat. And I am so fucking excited. WAS have been one of my favorite bands (maybe my favorite band) for a while now. When I arrived in the city last week, seeing them this week was the last thing I expected.

DC, I love you.

Just please give me a job.

<33

PS. I kept saying "my apartment". Just want to backtrack and say, that actually, it's "our apartment", our being me and my wonderfully, perfect boyfriend! He's not here yet, but he will be soon, and when that happens, DC will be even better. I love you Daniel. ;)

PPS. Yes, I'm aware that we're so cute it's gross and you hate me right now. Bye!

A smorgasbord of stuff for everyone!

Before I start, I'd like you to know that I did not know how to spell "smorgasbord" and when I Googled it, I found out that "smorgasbord" serves many different purposes:

- A collection containing a variety of sorts of things.
- A type of Scandinavian meal served buffet-style with multiple dishes of various foods on a table, originating in Sweden. In Norway it is called koldtbord and in Denmark it is called kolde bord.
- The second album by popular children's entertainers Sharon, Lois & Bram, originally released in 1979.

Moving on, it's been a while since I've reviewed any movies, so we'll have some of that. I'll also be updating you on what's going on in my life, which is more or less just going to be me complaining. You're welcome.

Onto the films, shall we?

Eclipse:
C'mon! You knew it was coming! It's almost like I have to considering I reviewed the other two pre-teen jerk off films. Maybe that was a little harsh, but I don't care. The reason New Moon was so much more bearable was because, for the most part, Edward wasn't in it. Jacob's acting isn't much better, but I'll take his macho werewolf crap over mister "I'm consistently in deep emotional pain and it shooooows" vampire. Eclipse brought me back to the days of the first movie, when I was writhing in my seat trying to calm myself down from the intensely uncomfortable awkward romantic scenes. Except this time I was accompanied my two of my good friends, who such as myself, have the maturity level of five year olds. Instead of being uncomfortable we were simply laughing our asses off (read: trying to be quiet but unable to control the laughter, causing crying, causing more laughter, causing us to spill our food everywhere [what a damn waste of Rasinets] causing more laughter, causing the fact that the entire theater probably hated us). I don't feel as bad as I should, I know due to the fact they they get married and go on a honeymoon and (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!) have sex, laughter is how I'm going to get through the fourth movie, Breaking Dawn. As with New Moon, the ONLY thing keeping this movie from going straight to the bottom of my list is the werewolves, and in particular, the intense werewolf/ Cullen tribe vs. newborn vampires battle scene. I may have involuntarily clapped when the werewolves jumped out of the forest. I may have involuntarily clapped twice. I tried to find a picture of that scene, but Google must be a twelve year old girl, since the only thing I could find is the above. I'm sorry.

While Twilight got two, and New Moon four (due to less Edward and more werewolves), this one will have to settle with three out of five (Edward came back, but still lots of werewolves). Also, if you can just make it funny, it's worth seeing.

Get Him To The Greek:
Totally different story! Any movie that can make me laugh my ass off hysterically simply because the main characters are so fucked up on drugs they stroke a furry wall for comfort, is more than enough to make it one of the best movies ever in my opinion. After seeing it I thought maybe I just enjoyed it because of my rampant immaturity, but I have yet to talk to anyone who doesn't completely agree with me. I don't know what else to tell you, other than: LOLOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOLOLZOZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!

I give it five out of five.

Gaynelle and I also came to the conclusion by the end of the movie that Russell Brand is a sexy man (albeit a little gay), which is another supporting reason to go see it.

Now onto my complaints.

I'm going to DC on Wednesday to stay in a weekly rental, and hopefully find a permanent rental. I've been starving myself and hooking on the side all summer to be able to afford to move finally. Alright, that's not true at all, but it's makes my plight so much more desperate if you just go with it. Anywhoo, this week I plan on riding my bike all over DC begging landlords to give me an apartment, and I'm hoping the weather will be kind and not ridiculously hot, because I'm preparing for this to take for-fucking-ever, considering I'm trying to find something affordable but big enough for a couple (yes, boyfriend is moving in with me, I know, wheeeee!), but also something that accepts my cat and large moderately sized dog. You know all those movies where kids move to big cities to make it on their own and they have to stay in a really tiny studio and eat Ramen noodles all year, but it still works out and they're super duper happy? Well, finding a really tiny studio to accept you isn't easy and noodles get expensive, and even when you know the city like I do, it's STILL hard. Breathing feels expensive right now. I've got a good bit of money saved up, but I'm afraid to buy a .50 cent soda because I know enough of those will eventually lead to the disappearance of all my money and gahhhhh, it's so stressful.

Anyways, as much as I'd like to stay in Gulf Shores, AL and collect dirty oil money from BP (hah, NOT), my first steps to finally leaving start this week. Hopefully by mid August I'll be living in a studio in Northwest, serving tables at some fancy place in DuPont, and living a jolly little life.

So, adieu for now, I will be checking in sometime next week to update everyone on how my apartment search is going (yes the blog is coming back, as I told you it would when I moved). Wish me luck!

<33

PS. I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED ABOUT THIS, I CAN'T BELIEVE I ALMOST FORGOT TO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT, OMG, DON'T JUDGE ME, BUT YEAH HERE YOU GO. Sorry for the all caps there for a second. Got carried away...

Two, count em', two.

Two insanely good movies. So good I can't even believe it. Both of which I, at first, blew off with a flick of my hand, dismissing them into the "over-rated, mainstream bullshit" category. I was so wrong!

Avatar:
I just got back (literally just got back) from a midnight premiere of this film. I now laugh on the inside whenever I think of previous movies with good special effects. James Cameron, I tip my hat off to you, good sir, this film is a gem. I really hope we see more films like this. I'm not saying I want every movie to have such awesome computer graphics (you can only handle so much epic-ness) but it'd be nice to have a few more as beautiful as Avatar. I had no clue what this movie was about before I saw it, other than the fact that it was about another planet called Pandora. So it surprised me when I found out that the underlying idea of this movie seems to be revolved around the point that humans are dick wads. Which pleased me, because face it, we are. The creativity in this movie sort of had me speechless. This film has literally been "in the making" since 1994, if that gives you any idea of how much thought has gone into it. They also created a new language for the species of "people". I saw it in 3D and honestly I don't think the difference between 2D and 3D is enough to warrant wearing those god-awful glasses for almost three hours (long, yes, but worth every second). I will be seeing it again, but in 2D, although if it was playing close enough to this shitty little Alabama town I would love to see it in IMAX which I'm sure is amazing. For those of you who like action movies, you haven't seen an epic battle until you see the one in Avatar. Can I go live on Pandora now? Please?

I give it five out of five, hands down, easily.

The Blind Side:
There are no crazy special effects in this movie, no huge action scenes, and actually a lot of southern, religious, sports-filled shit I usually have no interest in. But it was good. Very good. I totally cried. I really throughly enjoyed this movie, every second of it. Sandra Bullock was awesome (though I think she always is for the most part) and Quinton Aaron played a character so likable, I wanted to jump into the movie just so I could hug him. It's also based on a completely true story.

I give it five out of five, for completely different reasons than the ones for Avatar's score.

So if you have some free time on your hands this weekend, I would do my best to make it to both of these films. You won't regret it. I plan to finally see Precious, which has taken an awfully long time to make it to the small town I live in. I'm sure there won't be anything happy about that film, there certainly wasn't in the novel, but a story is worth hearing no matter how harsh it is.

Happy movie watching, buh bye.

OMFG!!!!!111!! Team Edward, lyke, fo real.

Um, seriously. How can someone not feel like they're 13 years old when getting into the "Twilight saga" shit?

I'll admit it though, I read every book. I liked them too. Maybe a little too much. Meyer's good, what of it!? I read her "adult" novel too if that counts for anything! It was good too! So don't judge me for liking vampire love stories like 89% of the rest of the female population!!!!

Maybe I'm defending myself too harshly. I feel no shame for loving the unholy-fuck out of the Harry Potter shit and all that is related to the Harry Potter shit. You know why I feel ashamed about Twilight? I watched the movies. Yes, plural, movieS. Even though the first movie is like, old, I feel I must "review" it in order to "review" the second one.

Ahem.

TWILIGHT SAGA MOVIE REVIEW EXTRAVAGANZA PRE-TEEN STYLEEEEZZZZEEZ!!

Twilight:
Can someone say HOLY AWKWARD! I loved the books, I like Kristen Stewart, but this movie was physically painful to watch due to the intense awkward moments! The special effects were also pretty abysmal. I tried hard to like this movie. Very hard. I even lied and said I loved it. I bought it. I lied to myself. It sucked. I think the characters were cast quite well, with the mighty huge exception of Edward. I mean, you are tasked with the job of finding a crazy hot guy to play the hottest vampire love story character of the half decade, and you choose the guy who played Cedric Diggory on Harry Potter? Really? Robert Pattinson is "hawt" but in no way hot enough to be Edward Cullen. Major fail. The only enjoyment I got out of this movie was reliving the enjoyment I got out of the book.

I give it two out of five.

New Moon:
This movie was a whole different story. New director, more money to work with, more to the story, and the most important factor of all: Werewolves. Let me repeat that. WEREWOLVES. I don't know if I've made this clear yet or not, BUT I FUCKING LOVE THE GOD DAMN SHIT OUT OF SOME WEREWOLVES. I'm in no way kidding when I say they are in my top five of my most favorite things ever. It just so happens that I prefer giant wolves on four feet to man-like hairy upright-standing creatures. So I loved this movie. There were also less of the awkward moments. I love the character of Alice and the rest of the Cullen family, and there was more of that action. There was less of Edward. Good for me, not so good for the mass amount of crying pre-teens who didn't get their fill of the British 23 year old. There was also the Volturi. Wiki it bitch. Also, no, Jacob wasn't hot enough either, and wow New Moon movie, way to be obvious about showing off the guys shirtless.

I give it four out of five. That's definitely the werewolves speaking.

Regardless, I am and will always be, Team Edward (in case you were wondering).

You know what I honestly think was the hottest part of both movies? Justin Chon:

Sexay..

Explosions, tortue, the end of the world, and Gerald Butler.

Movie review time! Two for one style!

Law Abiding Citizen:
I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It's one of those movies where you're not exactly sure who to feel sorry for, and I for one think that's hard for a film to do. Gerald Butler is a sexy man, Jamie Foxx is a sexy man, and there's tons of explosions and shit, so you shouldn't be let down with this one. There is however some torture and if you're one of those people who like happy-smiley-time movies and can't deal with a lot of death in your films, I would pass. I think the moral of this film for me was "Don't fuck with parents".

I give it four out of five.

2012:
Okay, this is either a movie you love or hate. That's what I'm gathering from others reactions anyways. I loved it. This coming from someone who thinks the 2012 end of the world theory is complete bullshit. I liked it because I love seeing shit destroyed. Yeah, I said it. My friend that saw this movie with me brought me a Pabst to drink (and when they drank Pabst in the movie we almost screamed) and the entire time we were anxiously complaining until shit got destroyed. Then we were wriggling with glee with sparkles in our eyes. The main characters go through some ridiculous scenes trying to escape the destruction, and well, there is no way in hell those fuckers would have made it out alive if this was real, but that's why it's a movie. The special effects were pretty good, only a couple of times did I say to myself "Wow, how fake." The story line was decent. While being based off of complete bullshit, it didn't dwell too hard on the religious crap and I liked the ending of the movie (don't worry I won't spoil it for you). There were some funny parts too. What brought it all together for me was John Cusack:

Two pictures weren't enough, I had to bring out the young sexy one. Anyways, I'm not sure why, but I LOOOOOOOOOVE John Cusack. I just do. Even if he is 43 now.

So, since I love John Cusack and seeing shit get destroyed...

I give it four out of five.

For the rest of the population that's not weird like myself, I give it three out of five.

You make the decision.

George Clooney & Kevin Spacey.

The Men Who Stare At Goats:
I mean, with those two actors, what more can I say? I definitely enjoyed this movie. I heard mixed reviews before seeing it, but I was quite happy with it. The dark humor appealed to me (as usual), and I was lolz-ing all over the place. Completely unrealistic (yet apparently based on truth?), but as most of you know from my other movie reviews, that doesn't usually matter to me if it's funny. Kevin Spacey was a genius as always, and George Clooney was great too (and sexy I might add). I also enjoyed Ewan McGregor and Jeff Bridges' roles too. Good actors, funny stuff, go see this movie if you want to laugh. That is, if you enjoy dark humor.

I give it four out of five.

Oh and as for my travels in DC today, I need to go to sleep, so details will come later. Suffice it to say, that the photography of Fotoweek 2009 almost brought on tears, my knees hurt from walking, and I am even more saddened at the prospect of returning to Alabama tomorrow (after spending another full day doing fun shit).

So, look forward to that recap!

Totally makes me want to go to Vegas.

The Hangover:
Let me first say, you have to be somewhat immature to enjoy this movie. Let me now say, that I fit the bill for that, so I enjoyed the hell out of it. It's not realistic, not one bit, but that doesn't matter because it is funny. Slamming a baby's head into a car door is funny (when it's not real of course). Waking up to a tiger in your bathroom is funny (when it's not real of course). Marrying a stripper when you're drunk in Las Vegas is funny (when it's not real of course). So if you are immature in the least bit, please go see it. If you're someone who is serious and doesn't drink (ie. boring), then maybe you should pass.

I give it four out of five.

Tarantino has done it again.

Inglourious Basterds:
"You probably heard we ain't in the prisoner-takin' business; we in the killin' Nazi business. Business is a-boomin'." I have always been a fan of Quentin Tarantino's films (well, mostly), and I thought Death Proof was maybe the best thing ever. Nope. Inglourious Basterds is everything I could want from a movie. It was over two hours long and I was still sad when it ended. I wish it could have been five hours long. There is one thing that I can say adamantly (and I hope others can as well), and that is that I hate Nazis. They deserve(d) to die in the worst way imaginable, in my opinion. That is all this movie is about. Sweet Jew revenge in the form of killin' Nazis. Taking scalps as well. There is even a Nazi killing character nicknamed "The Bear Jew". I ask you, what can get better than that? The dialogue was amazing, as per the usual for Tarantino. Usually I'd much rather watch action scenes then hear people talk but that's not the case for the majority of his movies. The man is just a cult classic genius. The action scenes, well, let's just say I got over-excited about them. Especially the ending, wowza! Let me tell you, my adrenaline was pumping and I actually found myself involuntarily clapping! I never do this, but I just couldn't fucking help myself.

I give it five out of five, and would give it more if that wasn't totally unfair to other films.

Now for those of you who don't mind some dialogue spoilage, enjoy this taste of the Basterds:

Brad Pitt (Lt. Aldo Raine): [Drawing a map] Up the road apiece, there's a orchard. Now, besides you, we know there's another kraut patrol fuckin' here somewhere. Now if that patrol were to have any crackshots, that orchard would be a goddamn sniper's delight. Now if you ever want to eat a sauerkraut sandwich again, you gotta show me on this map where they are, you gotta tell me how many there are, and you gotta tell me what kinda artillery they're carrying with 'em.
Nazi: You can't expect me to divulge information that would put German lives in danger?
Brad Pitt: Well Werner, that's where you're wrong, because that's exactly what I expect. I need to know about Germans hiding in them trees, and you need to tell me. And you need to tell me right now. Now take your finger and point out on this map where this party's being held, how many's coming, and what they brought to play with.
Nazi: I respectfully refuse.
Brad Pitt: [a smack is heard offscreen] Here that? That's Sgt. Donny Donowitz. But you might know him better by his nickname. The Bear Jew. Now, if you heard of Aldo the Apache, you gotta have heard of the Bear Jew.
Nazi: I have heard of the Bear Jew.
Brad Pitt: What did you hear about him, Werner?
Nazi: He beats German soldiers with a club
Brad Pitt: He bashes their brains in with a baseball bat is what he does. Now, Werner, I'm gonna ask you one more goddamn time, and if you still "respectfully refuse," I'm callin' the Bear Jew over here, and he's gonna take that big-ole bat of his, and he's gonna beat you to death with it. Now take your wiener schnitzel lickin' finger and point out on this map what I want to know.
Nazi: Fuck you.
[pause]
Nazi: And your Jew dogs!
[the Basterds all laugh]
Brad Pitt: Actually, Werner, we're all tickled to here you say that. Frankly, watchin' Donny beat Nazis to death is is the closest we ever get to goin' to the movies.
[Calling offscreen]
Brad Pitt: DONNY!
Bear Jew: [From offscreen] Yeah?
Brad Pitt: We got a German here who wants to die for his country! Oblige him!

A great movie, and a bad one.

Let's get down to it.

(500) Days Of Summer:
Simply amazing. There is not much I can say about this movie without giving too much away, but I can say that I loved it. Will definitely be buying it. Loved how it was "artsy" as well, and included some not so normal characters, and was pretty much realistic (which can't be said about many movies). If you can, go see this, now. It is not a love story chick flick.

I give it five out of five, definitely.

Final Destination 3D:
Ugh. I knew this movie was going to suck, but I went to see it anyways because I have to wait to see Inglourious Basterds and I had nothing to do, plus the people I saw it with are cool and I wanted to hang out with them. Even so, what terrible acting! Cliche characters as always, the muscle ridden jock guy was an in-sensitive asshole, the kind of cute guy was the caring one, the pierced guy was psychotic, etc. The only reason these movies get attention is because of the extremely gory death scenes, which is the only reason I enjoyed one second of it.

I give it two out of five, and only because of the completely unrealistic yet entertaining death scenes.

So there you go, do what you will with these words of movie knowledge. Be gone!

PS. Happy Labor Day!

I am reverting to my childhood.

Guess what I officially own now?

Guess what's in the mail on the way to my house right now?

Now my social life officially goes out the window! I'm so excited, you have no idea.

Movie review time!

The Goods:
I will inevitably like anything from the people who did Talladega Nights and Step Brothers. While this movie in particular was completely non-realistic (like the other two), it was still pretty funny. I like funny movies, but especially funny movies that make me laugh out loud. This one did that a couple of times. Not as funny as say The Hangover, but still pretty decent.

I give it three out of five.

In addition to all of that stuff, today I DID NOT GO TO WORK. Yes, an off day. I was going to go in for the next sit of my sleeve but that did not happen. I ate Zakby's chicken fingers, delicious as always.

I donated blood for the first time today.
The worst part for me by far was the damn finger prick. I can sit and get my whole arm tattoed no problem, but something about that little needle pricking the tip of my finger brings out the scared five year old in me. The big needle they stuck in my vein wasn't nearly as bad. I didn't get too dizzy either. Jessica on the other hand could not drive, haha. My blood type is O, but whether it's O+, or O-, remains to be seen, and I should know by mail at some point. I feel like a good citizen now. :D

Nothing else to say, just hanging out in Daphne.

Peace!

Movie review time!

Not that I am important enough for anyone to care what I think about movies, but whatever, I want to so here goes.

Julie & Julia:
Loved it. Then again, I also read the book (which is infinitely hilarious, if I do say so myself). Not only was it a cute movie about two women who love to cook, it was also very funny, not too long, and I loved the personalities portrayed by the actors and actresses. I do recommend reading the book first though, because it is (of course) better than the movie. Julie Powell is a wonderful writer, and probably the funniest writer I've ever read by far. I strongly suggest you read everything that has to do with her.

All in all, I give this movie four out of five. :D

District 9:
Turned out to be different then I thought it was. Without giving too much away, I will say that the stories were more personal than I expected. What I expected was a full out battle between the aliens and the humans, and that didn't happen really at all. The storyline was good, and mostly original, the graphics were good. I enjoyed the movie. I couldn't really see myself watching it again though.

I give it three out of five.

Please keep in mind, by the way, that I am usually very, very, easily satisfied with movies. I just tend to dislike super popular ones sometimes. Not most of the time though.

Other than seeing those two movies today I...
Slept, a lot.
Ate, a lot (too much).
Got to see Jessica (never do I see her enough).
Hung out with Travis.
Beat him at Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe TWICE (two times, I tell you!). Scorpion is my player of choice from now on.
Bought 18 Fuze drinks. :] At once.
Downloaded almost everything ever recorded by Mindless Self Indulgence.
Discovered that Army of Two is a horrible video game, and never should have been programmed into existence.
Spent way too much money.
Failed to sleep, which is why I'm blogging now, on the following day, at 630am.
Still have to drive for an hour, so I can sleep.
Work comes too soon.

I should really get going on that sleep thing I guess.

Gran Torino

Go see this movie. I saw it tonight and bawled my eyes out. It's probably the best movie I've seen in my life. Like, holy shit.

On another note, DO NOT go see My Bloody Valentine. I saw it in 3D and it still sucked. Horrible. Good thing it was free and I didn't have to spend any money on it. Jessica & Shawn watched it with me though, and it was nice to see them as always, so that helped.

Not much has gone on in the last couple of days. Just been working. Which is good because by next week I'll have two 12 inch subs installed in my Celica. Hahaha, I'm fucking stoked. Oh, Bush & Cheney are officially gone tomorrow. I'll be watching the live inauguration for sure. It should be pretty fucking exciting. YAY OBAMA! Hmm, what else. Nothing really. Kris, Tyler, & Dara are all supposed to be in town this weekend, so I'm super excited about that. I hope they all make it down here. Should be a good time. :D

I'm at Dustin's right now, about to sleep. Mikee is here too which is AWESOME because I totally wasn't expecting that. Texas was here for a while, but we had to take him home. :[

Alright, bedtime, it's fucking 430am. Goodnight!
